Diósgyőr Vitéz sausage is a local product created on the basis of writings from the Renaissance. The pork and bacon are flavored with a mixture of herbs according to a unique recipe. It does not contain paprika, as this spice was not yet known at that time. During the production of the sausage, we use only table salt and cold smoking with beech wood. It does not contain any other preservatives, artificial additives, aromas, dyes or flavor enhancers. During the Renaissance, sausage with green spices was a popular meat product around Diósgyőr. In October 2016, Vitéz sausage from Diósgyőr won the right to use the HÍR trademark. This means that the product is considered a premium quality, traditional local product generally recognized in the EU.
